Today's Narrative:
It's amazing to me how silly many of us can become when we are in love -me included. I am quite open, particularly as I'd never had anyone give me pause to be less than open...well, until April of 2010, that is. But, I've recovered from the shock of discovering that I really was having an "affair," (remember, I DID check the country court records to be sure that this man was divorced, and he had not yet gotten married (pig) when he started chatting with me). I got over the associated pain and then that pain pretty quickly turned to anger, and now I'm back to my normal self. At this moment in time, as I read and edit the dialog for this blog, I wonder if Jeff thought he was doing me some sort of favor by gracing me with "himself" - 'cause "his-self" turned out to be not such a great guy in so very many ways! In my mind's eye, I try to picture him as a youth and what I see is a skinny, pimply faced kid, who was painfully shy. Maybe he was one of those kids who ran up to other kids pinched them, and then ran away. However, this is all pure speculation and I actually don't think of him very often anymore -mostly just when I'm doing this blog- makes for good blog fodder. LOL
Do you think that men like Jeff are so love starved that they need to behave in this manner? or...do they need the constant approval or acceptance? ...is it depravity? ...is it a game to "conquer" for them? ...does it make them feel more worthy in some way? I can only surmise that individuals (men or women) who behave this way are somehow insecure...or perhaps they have some "mommy" or "daddy" issues? ...not loved enough as children? ...or maybe they were just born into this life broken or a bit insane? Ah well, it's hard to say what stunted his emotional growth. Who knows -and really, who cares?- as long as they stay out of our paths (my path in particular), but it all makes for some rather interesting speculation!
Above everything else, I wonder why he felt he had to lie to the degree that he did -I'm sure that there are plenty of women who would be willing to have an "affair" with him, although, perhaps not...during the entire time that we saw each other the only thing he ever brought to me was one single, solitary bottle of wine. (Cheap?) Perhaps he thought the cost of the gasoline was his portion of the equal sharing thing. Obviously, we all know the stories throughout history, that both men and women have cheated on their spouses, but there are also individuals who truly love their spouses.

Going off on a small tangent here, I'd also like to mention that I really don't care what people do in the privacy of their homes. By that I mean if two people are having an affair and each of them is married, as long as ALL parties involved are in the know and everyone is okay with that...fine by me. It does not mean that I agree in any way with what they are doing or that I would ever want to do what they are doing. It simply means that I don't particularly care about what people do in the privacy of their homes, and I don't want to know about it. So long as it does not affect our "social fabric" or hurt anyone else, for me it's okay. Perhaps you think that I'm not being very responsible with that point of view. I think that there are already too many laws impinging on us. Life happens (shit happens), and we either get over it or we don't, and in the meanwhile the vast majority of humanity really does not give a crap either way.
Make life good for yourself and those you care about and teach them to do the same. Help others as much as you can without compromising yourself or those that you love.

BTW - I still think that marriage should be a series of five year contracts...(this is only my small personal opinion). You have to wonder if couples would work harder at maintaining themselves and their relationship if they knew that the other spouse could walk away when the five years was up. (Needless to say...but I'll say it anyway...where there are children involved there would need to be some serious consideration given to the five year contract, obviously much more so than a relationship with no children.)
