Today's Narrative:
Isn't love wonderful? Some people can spend a lifetime searching for it and never find it. I'm talking about the kind of love that has a fire that never burns out. Sometimes this love burns
down to embers, smoldering away until there is an exchanged look or an innocent brush of a hand that sends the flames shooting hot and wild. I think most people do not understand or know how to keep this type of love alive. There are some definite talents required to maintain that sort of a relationship beginning with truly excellent communication. Love requires attention...and a little bit of work to keep one's desires up.
When we stop having the required affinity and reality with our partners, well...all is lost in that love arena. Then all that we have is a roommate. I suppose that for some, a roommate is good enough (sadly so). I know a couple in their late 70's, maybe early 80's, who are still very much in love. They hold hands, they love to dance together - sometimes when there is no music playing. You can tell by the way that they look at each other that they still have "it." They've been married forever and although I'm sure that they've had their share of relationship hardships, they have "endured"... in a good way. How many people fit into that category these days? We've all seen people who have "endured" (not in a good way). Some, I think, have forgotten what love is and perhaps some have never even known what love is. Love is not something that one briefly encounters in life -that's infatuation.Oh well...
One of my girlfriends holds the philosophy that every man would cheat, given the opportunity. I'm not sure if that's true or not, and I also do not know if that applies to women...or not. I'm kind of the one man type of girl, but I also know the importance of keeping life exciting and the flames or romance kindled. But, I can only speak for myself. There certainly is a much ramped up excitement with each new relationship, but I'm also not sure if that's too much over a long period of time or not. Sometimes it's good to feel a bit settled in with a lover. I need to have that comfort and trust level in order to participate in some of the more wildly erotic activities that two people can experience, but I also know that's not true for everyone.
When I discovered that Jeff had been having unprotected sex with numerous women, I made a beeline to my doctor's office. I wonder if he isn't concerned about bringing something "unwanted" home to the wifey. How on earth does such a "committed, loyal and faithful" man explain that away? "It's not my fault hon, she made me have sex with her!! I was just an innocent 59-60 year old man!! I could not get away from her...all those times!" Puh-leeze...!! A truly "loyal" man would have not gotten so involved with other women...all the while planning a wedding...! Humph, whatever! Enough of my musing...lol...read on... ;}
